HISTORY:
In the mid of the 60´s decade had many differences racial between the community. Then some Notting Hill´s habitants decided organize a small celebration and so to have more fellowship between them. Since then, every year all the community themselves go out of their houses to the street to celebrate this date.
HOW DO THEY CELEBRATE?
the people go out to the streets to dance with clothes very colorful. There are many peculiarities, for example:
The music: is traditional and contemporany sounds filling the air for miles around.
The costumes: The people make their own customes, using their imagination and creative
The parade: In the parade the people an see beautiful floats, other people with outlandish costumes and that dance of a way wonderful.
The food: Is the traditional Caribbean food and also provides the perfect introduction to jerk chicken, rice and peas and rum punch as well as the odd taste of other exotic cuisines.
